According to NAPO (the National Association of Professional Organizers):
"A professional organizer employs the principles of organizing to enhance the lives of clients through the design of systems and processes. A professional organizer also educates the public on organizing solutions and the resulting benefits."
Why use a professional organizer?
Professional organizers contribute many assets to client projects:
Expertise - a working knowledge of organizing principles Experience - gained from working with other clients in similar situations Knowledge of organizing resources - complementary products and service providers that can help realize or enhance project results Ability to motivate - similar to a personal trainer, to strengthen and support the client's commitment to better organization Objectivity - to help guide a client through necessary decisions
How will you work with me?
We'll start with an initial meeting in which we will discuss your vision: your definition of success for our work together. We will identify project goals and tasks and establish priorities. We will then set a mutually agreeable schedule and start date. I will then work with you side-by-side to accomplish project tasks and establish new systems and processes until your vision has been realized.
